Why you should be using these types of pellets for your smoker | A Barbeque guide to smoke pellets

So you've just made your way down to BBQ To Go, had a look through the Green Mountain Grill (GMG) catalogue like the GMG Trek, Ledge, and Peak. After considering your options, you've finally bought yourself a smoker.

Now what?

When you're using a smoker grill, you're most likely going to need pellets. But there's an issue... You have so many options for pellets. Whether it's hickory, Texas, apple fruitwood, cherry, etc. the options are endless. What most beginners don't know is that pellets can greatly effect the smell and taste of the meat that you are grilling.

In this post, I'm going to briefly run down a list of commonly used pellet flavours that can help you decide on what pellets you might want to use the next time you're smoking tenderloin, pork belly, or brisket. And always remember, just because you buy one bag does not mean you are stuck with that flavour until the hopper is empty. GMG grills allow you to easily swap out pellets if you need to switch flavours for another cut of meat.

It is important to recognize before we get into the details of pellets that I will be using example pellets that we sell here at BBQ To Go. Furthermore, I would like to also point out that our pellets 100% natural hardwood.
